Camp Ihduhapi With Jacob

I won the lottery and was chosen as one of the 6th Grade chaperones for this year's trip to Camp Ihduhapi meaning I got to spend a beautiful Fall day outside with my son and his buddies.  The weather couldn't have been better.  Spirits were high as the camp counselor talked about cooperation and trust and then taught the kids games to encourage these traits.  Lunch came all too quickly followed by various cooperation activities.  Jacob's group was assigned to the climbing wall where kids were partnered up, taught how to belay each other, and tethered together as climbers so that no one person could succeed on his/her own.  It was interesting to hear the kids advise and encourage each other and impressive to watch as group after group climbed the wall successfully.

  1. I love a ropes course! What a great field trip, and I'm so glad you "won" the lottery. (Can you call it winning?) Just kidding. I am hoping to win a chance to go with Griffin's class to the theater. I love getting to glimpse my kiddos in a different setting, and they--so far--love when I can come. Of course I expect that to change in the future, but until then: field trips, here I come!
