6th Grade Orchestra Concert

If you've hung around with me long enough, you've heard me say that I have no intention of raising a jock - I want to raise a Renaissance Man.  Someone who can do everything from play the piano to play basketball.  And so far, Jacob's living my dream.  He loves to play the piano and seems to have a remarkable natural talent for music.  Yet, he loves sports and can hold his own on the basketball court too.  Jacob is interested in the art pieces and art education program I coordinate at his school, yet he also loves and excels at math.  I love that he has diverse interests.  So we were pleased when Jacob decided to continue orchestra instead of switching to band like so many of his classmates.  We attended his concert this month and had as close to a perfect experience as you can have at a 6th Grade Orchestra concert.  The music was wonderful.  We saw lots of kids and families we knew.  And the whole thing only lasted 40 minutes which was just about what Mary could handle :).  A wonderful evening all around!
