Ward Split

Two weeks ago, one of the counselors in the Stake Presidency read a letter announcing that a new ward would be created by changing boundaries from three existing wards.  I was surprised.  After all, we've had a huge ward forever and while people have talked about this for ages, that's all it ever was - talk.  So last Sunday the three wards met and a fourth ward was created.  The boundaries were not what I expected at all.  And today we met for one last time as a legacy ward.  And I think I was the only person who felt nostalgic.  I guess I feel that if I value something, it deserves a few minutes of reflection.  Callings will change, the building will be different and the many people I hoped to get to know better will not be around each week.  I am sure I will enjoy my new ward, but I don't want to flippantly or irreverently walk away from what I've held dear for 12 years.  So today - this week - I'll reflect a bit before moving on.
