Fun Run

Jacob ran his first long distance race on Saturday in the Maple Grove Days' fun run.  He ran 3.7 miles around a lake with 349 other racers.  We were very proud of him because he actually paced himself and ran his own race.  I think it would be hard to keep your personal pace when other people are flying past you, but Jacob stayed consistent and came in exactly when expected.  He placed 163rd overall (out of 350); 11th in his class of 14 & under.  David also ran at his own pace, placing 26th overall and 8th in his class of 40-49.  If David had been in his 30's or 50's, he would been one of the top 3 and received a medal.  Apparently a lot of 40-somethings run here :).

 Starting out . . .

 Coming in strong

  1. Congrats to both of the Rolf men! (Does this mean that Jacob will now start his own running shirt collection?)
