I'm sure I thought that life would be less busy once the kids were out of school. At least this year I didn't actually express that thought to anyone so I'm growing. Perhaps next year I will realize with complete clarity just how busy life is going to become once school dismisses.
School ended and I suddenly remember why I firmly believe that stay-at-home mothers work harder than any other person in any other profession on the planet. I'm exhausted! And not really sure where the minutes go in which I used to get laundry done and groceries purchased and bills paid. We get up, we run all day, and we go to bed.
At least it's all fun. So far we've accomplished the following:
bowling
swimming
swimming lessons (almost done with the first camp & signed up for the second)
basketball camp no less than 21.4 miles away from our home, hitting rush-hour traffic BOTH WAYS
scout camp-out
soon-to-come Daddy/Daughter camp-out (we've planned and shopped and will soon pack)
dentist
activity days sleep-over
lake
practice piano
piano lessons
reviewing math facts and ABCs
chores - gotta teach those kids to work (WEARING ME OUT)
teaching finance basics to ladies at church in 20 minutes
scrapbooking with sisters-in-law (SO MUCH FUN!)
taking dinner to VTee
planning American Girl Doll party & sending invite
collecting food from neighborhood and delivering it for 2nd Harvest food drive
attending three graduation parties and one baptism
taking child to birthday party
preparing primary lesson so David can attend Priesthood meeting on Father's Day
bike rides and picnics when we decided to take FHE "on the road"
refereeing
Not bad for the first 11 days . . .

Wow! You've done it all, you can send them back to school tomorrow. :) I think we are starting to adjust- the last couple of weeks I have been thinking year round school just might not be as bad an option as I used to think. Keep having fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI know!!! I go to bed exhausted every day. There is so much to do, to teach them, and that doesn't even start on all the things I still have to do. It's a wild ride. P.S. I'm never homeschooling. :0)
ReplyDeleteAll that you have done makes me tired just reading about it. What you really need is a farm.
