Spring Break

No American Girl Doll projects.  No trips to other states to visit family.  Just good, low-key fun, at home, for Spring Break this year.  Our week went something like this:

Monday: Played with friends
Tuesday: Hung out at home
Wednesday: Met Dad for lunch followed by a trip to the MIA afterward
Thursday: Attended the Mill City Museum and really enjoyed learning a bit about our city's history
Friday: Circus in the morning; Fancy Hotel that night
Weekend: General Conference

We took Jacob and Charlotte to the circus when they were little, so when Laurel asked to go, it seemed like the right thing to do.  Let's just say the circus becomes less magical the older you get so this wasn't Jacob's favorite activity, but the girls loved it.

Friday night we finally made it to the Fancy Hotel.  Our tradition has been to spend one night at a hotel in January to celebrate our family's beginning (our anniversary).  Initially we went to a hotel with a pool, slowly morphed into staying at an indoor waterpark, and last year attempted the Mall of America.  We weren't going to do that again, so we returned to our trusty waterpark this year.  As luck would have it, we didn't have school one Friday in January, so David took the day off and we went to the hotel only to discover that the waterpark is only open on weekends.  Fortunately, they refunded our money, but we had to wait until basketball ended in March to return.  So on April 1st we finally carried out our family tradition.  Since we've done this many years before, I didn't bother with the camera.  Just know that we had fun.  We returned home Saturday in time to watch General Conference which seemed to cap off our week in a very satisfying way.

Below are some pictures of the circus.
