Wow - how do you begin to blog when you're 40 and have never done it before??? I guess you just jump right in . . . Last Sunday (May 31, 2009), we had a lesson on using a blog as a family history tool - a journal per se. Something about the idea connected so here I am - trying to record a slice of our life for my kids to enjoy when they're grown.
We've had lots of teeth adventures lately. On May 11, Jacob decided to catch a baseball with his teeth instead of his mitt. I didn't even notice he was on the ground until one of the other kids came to get me. I walked over to him and he said he'd knocked his tooth out. "A permanent tooth?" "Yea." "Where is it?" At which point he put in into my hand. Thus began our mad dash to an emergency dentist and continued visits since. Here is a picture of the brace used to keep his two front teeth in place.
Charlotte has lost 4 teeth in the last two weeks so of course, we needed a picture of her mouth. She lost another tooth yesterday. The darn
tooth fairy keeps forgetting to pick up the teeth meaning the amount she leaves goes up each night. One night the tooth fairy remembered, but came twice she was so worried about missing it again.
And because we were taking pictures of Jacob and Charlotte's teeth - Laurel & Mary wanted one too - so here they are. Mary chipped her teeth when she was 18 months old at which time we found out she has a 3rd permanent tooth, so she'll get surgery when she's 6 to remove it. Hey - can Jacob have that extra tooth if he needs it?????
Yea!!! I am so glad you are blogging for lots of reasons, primarily I get to know what you are up to and see cute pictures of your kids. My mom told me about your son getting his tooth knocked out. She was so impressed that you knew how to preserve it in milk. After she told me about it, I remembered that I had heard that somewhere, but I would never have thought of it in the moment. You are a supermom!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blogging, Ella! I don't update mine all that often, but it is a good way to journal. Sorry to hear about Jacob's tooth, although it sounds like you knew what to do to save it. Gavin damaged his top front two teeth at 18 months, and they yellowed, and I was so glad when he FINALLY go the replacements last year in 3rd grade. I keep dreading he's going to damage the permanent ones. Trevor just lost his first tooth last week, and Ian is jealous.
