David Turns 40

It's hard to believe, but David is 40 now. We invited the family over to celebrate, have dinner, and make some memories. It was a great afternoon/evening. And David enjoyed himself which is what I wanted more than anything. I love this man of mine. He faithfully gets up each morning without fail at 4:45 a.m. so he can shower, pray, read scriptures and eat before leaving for work by 5:50 at the latest. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying our comfy, warm bed long after he's already at work. He never complains when the house is a wreck. If I want to buy something, he has never once told me no. He uses his free time to do projects I think up. He plans the greatest family vacations. He values both sides of our family (Rolfs & Lewis). He faithfully and quietly teaches in the primary and goes back every week even when the kids are insane (I'd go crazy in there). He has always put me first and when we were first married, I forced him to choose between me and his family a couple of times (sorry family!). He is loyal to me and I have complete trust and faith in him. He's fun to talk to. He is interested in the same crazy things I'm insterested in like interest rates, movies about Mount Everest, and strategy games. He's competitive. He's a hard worker, but leaves work at work and enjoys his time with us. He looks even better than when we got married - filled out a bit and more distinguished if you ask me. He makes me laugh and tells me he loves me daily. I'm so lucky to have him with me for eternity!

  1. Happy birthday, David!!! He sounds like an amazing guy. You both are lucky. (That's because I know first hand how amazing you are, too.) There's nothing I like better than seeing friends find happiness. Just sorry about the snow. Hope you're not in for a loooong winter. If so, you have a friend in AZ that wouldn't mind a visit! :0)

  3. Wow, I can't believe he gets up so early so he can pray and read scriptures. How cool is that!! You've got a good one! I just read a book recently about climbing. It was "Three Cups of Tea." I was SO fascinated with the climbing. They talk about Everest and K2.
