School Conferences

WOW!

Just finished school conferences for Jacob, Charlotte, and Laurel. These are amazing kids. I marvel at their talents, skills, and social abilities. Their teachers had nothing but kind things to say about them and to me. And all three teachers told me that David and I are good parents. I have never felt like I could take credit for my kids' talents. I truly believe they come like they are straight from God and we are simply blessed to have them. But I have to admit, I do appreciate the teacher's words :). And I've concluded that perhaps there is one thing David and I can take credit for: we're engaged. We really care about these four little souls and we care enough to pay attention. If there is one thing that can happen so very easily in our busy society is that people get distracted. A quote from a dear friend's blog comes to mind . . . after her daughter was born, she looked at her husband and said, "This is a job we can't afford to mess up!" David and I understand that and while we aren't the best parents out there, we're definitely trying. Our children are the focus of our lives. So let me say once again - WOW - these are amazing kids!
