Much Better

After receiving frozen plasma and vitamin K, my Dad's blood thickened up, allowing surgery to take place last night at 9:00 p.m. Wyoming time. My Mom called at 11:00 p.m. to say that it had gone very well. There was a lot of blood removed and indications that the bleed had been going on for over a week. My Dad was already acting more like himself with the pressure removed. A shunt remains in to allow more drainage. So things are good just like I thought they'd be :).

I am interested in my own reaction to all of this. I have put off for a month getting my scout stuff in order, but suddenly it seemed really important to sort through all the detail and update my records last night. I also worked on our bills. Charlotte noted, "Working makes you feel better doesn't it." Yes, I guess it does. Quiet work that requires focus.

I also have realized all over again my sure knowledge that Jesus Christ lives. I felt and still feel wrapped in his love like a warm, comforting blanket. I know Christians all over the world know He lives, but isn't it an amazing thing to know! I have felt hungry for his words. It has been good to read about His life. How He cared for people, was patient He was with them, how He blessed them, and how He forgave them. I am comforted that when things are not as they should be in my world, He is there for me. He is real. He lives.
